WTB-Cleveland brake takeoffs

Shop says I need new calipers. “ LH brake caliper is seeping fluid from corrosion pores around upper fitting.”
“ RH brake caliper is still leaking out of puck Oring due to the heavy pitting in the bore” They don’t think the calipers are reparable. Cessna part number 163030-113
I want to stick with the Cleveland’s. Does anyone have takeoffs after moving up to double pucks for big tires?

Re: WTB-Cleveland brake takeoffs

You don’t know what you don’t know. Reading the correct document or reading the document correctly isn’t that easy when it comes to brakes. Turns out ours are McCauleys, not Cleveland’s. But you cannot buy McCauleys. Cessna service bulletin SEB00-5 says use Cleveland’s to replace the McCauleys by getting a field approval. Cleveland conversion STC doesn’t cover the P model 182.
Long story short ABI 199-62 conversion kit to double puck brakes (with wheels) is the most practical solution and includes the necessary Atlee Dodge STC. And is cheaper than either single or double puck Clevelands.

Re: WTB-Cleveland brake takeoffs

Have a set of Cleveland single puck brakes removed from a ‘56 182 for upgrade to double…along with a set of solid aluminum axels….pucks are at least 3/4 remaining….I’ll take an offer on the package or individual…..

Re: WTB-Cleveland brake takeoffs

We just tried to convert a 182 using 199-62 Airframes kit. They will not work with wheel pants according to airframes and verified in the field.

I think the Cleveland 199-84 kit is the substitute for McCauley.
