Does anyone know of any complete DC-3's rotting at any of the northwest airports?

There's a pretty rotten c-47 at Arlington KAWO. Most everything except cowl flaps.

There's one rotting away in the trees at Mccall airport.

(Literally, it was parked and the trees grew around it. It looked to all be there...

The one at McCall is owned by the U.S.F.S., good luck trying to get it.

Don't know if it's rotting away or if it's still airworthy, or if it's for sale, but there's a DC-3 parked at Flying Tom airport OR39 near Corvallis OR. Airport owner's contact info can be found on airnav.

Do a google search for Evergreen Airlines. They used them as late as the 90's. You can also call http://www.evertsair.com They probably don't have one for sale but they gots lots of parts or know of most of the good ones left in the world.

Everts flys C-46 and DC-6, no DC-3 on the property.

Not true. A friend of mine owns it. It does have some old FS paint on it.

I know of one on the other end of the country that needs to be bought. ...might be ferry-able as is.

One at Lodi, Ca. doing billboard duty. I know its out of your area, but it Looks like it needs a home.

If it's the green one in the trees, it's not Forest Service. It used to belong (probably still does) to Scott Anderson that was/is a smoke jumper and artist. He's an old friend that I haven't seen in many years.

OK not the first time I was wrong. I was told recently by a long time F.S. employee in McCall that they still used it for smoke jumper training, yell HOORA and jump out the door type of stuff.

Does anyone know who owns the plane in Arlington?

Dale, not that it really makes any difference, it did reside down at the old smoke jumper base when it was closer to the lake. Scott A bought it and moved it to a lot he owned and the plan was to turn it into an art gallery shop. This was back in about 1992. Maybe there is another on at the base that I don't know about. The one in this picture is the one I do remember.

Maybe someone can get the tail number for you and you can find the owner info off that.
I don't get over there too often these days, but if & when they re-open the airport café (supposed to be this month) I'll try to remember to get it for you.
