Sent the pics of the Widgeon to my step dad to see what he thinks. Thanks again! It's a good looking scheme.

Aryana, I really dig the non-metallic gray fuselage and yellow wings. Lots of good directions to go from there honestly. Just please no starburst.... haha

Re: 1999 ACA 7ECA Citabria Aurora

Sidetracked for a bit by this 1953 Hiller UH-12B that I have to perform some maintenance on for a friend.

Should be back on the Citabria soon...

I love Hiller’s! My dad and uncle had a helicopter company in the 60’s and early 70’s, they had Hiller's. I have fond memories of riding around in them.

Thanks! It's a little too packed for my taste, especially with my brother's 2002tii project in the way but it's not a bad spot to hang out.

Being a low time helicopter student pilot, I'm not able to fully appreciate the difference between the Hiller and the Hughes, but I like the big streamlined bubble of the Hiller and sitting in the center as PIC.

My mom and I tried to recreate a photo from 1992 when we restored one of many Champs.

Re: 1999 ACA 7ECA Citabria Aurora

More distractions from the Hiller and also painted a van for a friend.

Gotta focus on the Citabria again this week.

Blade was removed to be sent out to repair a delamination of the metal leading edge from the wood.

Painting the van. Can't reveal the final color due to an informal NDA.

I want to borrow that PPE. The virus is going crazy down here. We are the stupidest people on the face of the earth.

Really digging the combo of this Dawn Grey and bright yellow

Headliner installs are always fun. (Insert sarcasm)

We have new trim pieces that screw on to hold the headliner, but using the old ones for now.

It's still not as tight as we'd like back by the baggage compartment, and overall needs more fiddling to make it look good.

I hope I remember where all these wires go, LOL!

Image

Laid this completely refurbished panel up in place just to get a visual. We've decided to leave the wiring harness on the outside of the headliner. It allows the panel to be removed much more easily in the future, and gives an ample service loop. The harness will be secured in place with some kind of retainer that we will devise.

Still gotta prep the cowling for paint.

Image

At least it kinda looks like an airplane again, which is really motivating.

Kurt, here are a couple pics of the finished van. The Porsche "Chalk" color is pretty cool. A very light grey.

I'm no longer involved in the rebuild of this aircraft anymore, so there won't be any more updates.

I'm sure N374DM will be popping up around the SF Bay Area when it's finally completed and it will probably end up for sale at some point but I have no idea since I have no more connection to the project.

Hopefully this thread helps the future owners and operators of this aircraft to understand what was done to improve it.
