So after my flight with wally, he took us out for a great feed of mexican, then it was off to St george's main aiport of where I saw sitting on the flight line the most stunning example of a 185 Ive seen to date. And the best part was this was my ride for a second Flight over the grand canyon! to make things even better, my wife and her friend got to come along for this one to!
It was a nice mix up from Wallys flight as we crossed this time at 10 000 feet which really allowed us to take in just how vast the canyon is, and how far it stretches. It was nice to have the balance of the up close and from a distance views I got from the two flights. Also to make things fun I discovered that while James was in the millitary, he decided to undertake a university degree....in geology! while I took the controls of his magnificent beast, he chatted away for a good couple of hours telling all the history as to how the canyon was formed, the difference in the rock layers, pointing out and naming old volcanoes. He also hikes alot in the canyon and has an interest in native american history, so was able to fill us in on all the historic sites ect.
For those interested, James is actually the air boss at burning man, aswell as the man who builds the airport for the event each year. So many of you may have talked to him on the radio if you havn't met in person!
