Re: DrifterDrivers HSF adventure thread

So after my flight with wally, he took us out for a great feed of mexican, then it was off to St george's main aiport of where I saw sitting on the flight line the most stunning example of a 185 Ive seen to date. And the best part was this was my ride for a second Flight over the grand canyon! to make things even better, my wife and her friend got to come along for this one to!

It was a nice mix up from Wallys flight as we crossed this time at 10 000 feet which really allowed us to take in just how vast the canyon is, and how far it stretches. It was nice to have the balance of the up close and from a distance views I got from the two flights. Also to make things fun I discovered that while James was in the millitary, he decided to undertake a university degree....in geology! while I took the controls of his magnificent beast, he chatted away for a good couple of hours telling all the history as to how the canyon was formed, the difference in the rock layers, pointing out and naming old volcanoes. He also hikes alot in the canyon and has an interest in native american history, so was able to fill us in on all the historic sites ect.

For those interested, James is actually the air boss at burning man, aswell as the man who builds the airport for the event each year. So many of you may have talked to him on the radio if you havn't met in person!

Re: DrifterDrivers HSF adventure thread

Ill brush over the rest of the trip a bit next stop was vegas for halloween. I must say I was quite shocked to see how lacking the Halloween spirit was. We where expecting it to be a big deal with costumes everywhere, but while there where a few in costumes, by majority it proved to just be another night for the town that never sleeps! all the same we had a great time, stayed at the Luxor, and explored all the other hotels, My wife has decided that putting rides on top of Americas tallest tower was not a great idea! I however loved it. Though the best part of Vegas was we popped into gun garage. I'm no broke but had a play with an HK pistol, an Uzi a pump action shot gun, and another AK47, this time on full auto. Though for me the highlights where seeing my wife shoot at ak47, getting to shoot a sten gun for myself (history nut here!), but best of all was my 3 shots in the AR50! I think I need one of these to help sort out some owed accounts by clients!

From here we began our journey Home. our next stop was LA, where we stayed in Pasadena for the night. What was originally intended to be a simple stop off for the night proved to be a pleasant suprise. It was a great place to just hang out for an evening and explore. We then decided however to spend our final day in the world famous Hollywood! we went straight for the famous Hollywood Blvd and what do you know! a total shit hole! (apologies to anyone who may reside there, or be a big fan of the place, but the bit I got to see didn't prove to be a pleasant experience!) after quickly giving up on Hollywood we headed for the Le Brae Tar Pits. These where fascinating and we really enjoyed our time in the excellent museum.

After that we headed home. and I was dissapointed to leave. I had experienced the most amazing adventure of my life, had met the greatest bunch of people going, and I wasn't ready for it to end! so on that note.........Hopefully I can work it so I can do it all again next year!

I see that you were handing out Kangaroo ball sacks and I wasn't offended by the profanity in the music on your video, cause I couldn't understand a single word. I'm happy for you that your trip went so well.
