Flying with piperpainter aka former crazy Mooney driver

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

You airline pilots annoy me to no end! I mean you get to the airport at 6am expecting to catch a last minute seat the Anchorage AND you get it! And if that wasn't enough you get another last minute seat on a commuter to Kenai. Without paying a cent for either ticket I might add. And you bring your personal large water bottle (and large shampoo for all I know) right through TSA security like you owned the place or something (as long as you have a shirt with those stupid epaulets on them). Then a friend meets at Kenai and drives you to Soldotna where you do what amounts to a personal prebuy on a 205. Then hours later your friend picks you up and you go out for pizza together! After which he takes you back to Kenai where again you catch a last minute seat to Anchorage, and unbelievably catch another last minute seat in Anchorage to back home. AND YOU DO ALL THIS IN ONE DAY. Hell, while you and your friend where looking at the 205 I'd still be back at security getting a proctology exam- again!

Congratulations on the new plane! (much better looking then the one you looked at here) You and Cory need to plan a 205 trip back up here one summer and camp at my place. After you have some proper tires on it of course. ;-)

And thanks for the pizza. :-)

PS I'm looking to buy one of these shirts for my next germ tube ride. Yep, I'm a pilot. \:D/

PPS And bring the Macbean's with you. :-)

Hehe! Actually Phil, it’s not the shirt, it’s the little plastic dohicky the airline gives you with your pic on it. The shirt is optional![emoji3].

Here is the breakdown for Tuesday night through Wednesday morning: A whirl wind 21.5 hours. 10pm flight to NM. Both got first class. Land at 11:30. Hotel by 12am. Asleep by 12:30. Up at 6am. Breakfast and drive to SAF. Check the plane out. 4.6 hours later back in SLC. We are very fortunate to be able to move around so freely. It sure comes in handy when needing to get here or there...especially to look at planes.

We do need to make a trip back up north! I’m trying to convince Dee of that need for this summer!

Now see I think you guys really have some kind of secret handshake going on for something cause I'm pretty sure Bryan said it was the shirt and not the plastic doohickey thingy, at least for the big water bottle. ;-)

Glad you guys had a chance to chase the bird together, and who doesn't like Santa Fe, especially the cuisine. Yum.

Haha! I wish we could have sampled the local cuisine. Unfortunately our sampling consisted of the Holiday Inn breakfast and subways!

That's a super nice looking 205, I think that is what I will be looking for this coming fall. I hope it gives you years of good service.

Well I have't flown much since I got the airplane home. But boy have I been doing some work! I have all the interior out and will be redoing the soundproofing, panel, interior, repainting plastic etc. Lots of work. Figured I might as well get it done before summer. I can't wait to get her back up. Here are some pictures of the fun!

What the panel will look like....I'm going light weight with cardboard haha
