Also,

I'm based in Elko so depending on timing, you can use my truck and transfer tank if you want mogas here. I'm headed to HSF also so it will depend on when your coming through Elko. Of course that offer extends to any BCP'ers coming through Elko and not just for HSF.

You might also want to check with Mark at West Desert before you leave to make sure someone is there to dispense fuel.

I can get you mogas in Salt Lake at U42 as well. I have a truck for my own use there.

Della is in great shape. Tested pump 1 yesterday, it doesn't have ethanol in it.

I'd love to slow poke with you guys.

let me know closet what your plans are!

Looking at your route I think I could probably hook up with you guys in the Vernal area. We'll see as we get a little closer.

That would be great! It looks like we may be able to get a few more to join up in the SLC area as well as we head west.

Depending on progress & weather, we were initially thinking of stopping and camping for the night in the SLC area; possibly someone in the SLC area has some tips for a good place to Cub-camp around there?

Awesome. Maybe we should start a different thread of "HFS: Caravan From the East" at some point to keep from cluttering this thread?

Eventually I will post my SPOT link so anyone interested can see our progress as we head west for meeting up.

We officially have some sponsors for our fly in and the list is growing!

Here is who we have on board so far:

Helly Hansen
Smith Optics
Garmin, yes Garmin
EarthX Motorsports
Air Response
Off Airport Gear
Cliff Bar
and the list is growing...

If you have someone or know of someone that would like to be represented this year at the HSF we would love to have them on board. Remember this is a FREE fly-in and the idea is to give away as many prizes as possible in all sorts of categories.

We have come up with some really cool contests, aside from the STOL. Your not going to wanna miss this years event!

Please make certain to sign up in the events page.

Had some fun today finding our property corners with Dr Grant. Also found a couple new spots. Good times!

Made some good pilot info maps that some of you are proofing now. Will have those details shortly.

And found an old truck

And landed here...we named it "Duck butter" after the lone duck we jumped that was boiling into butter....hot and clean. Further research shows it's been around since the early 1800's

Looks great. The no fly zone of the camping area is a welcome addition. A gun range, too! Nice touch. Can't wait for the festivities to begin.

Although not as good as "DuckButter", "DeadCow" will make a fantastic user defined waypoint as well. 8)

I really need to get more creative with my naming conventions!

My buddy Tobe is buying the 50 acres next to me. We are expanding! HSF is only 6 weeks out! ImageImageImageImageImage

Will there be a way buy a raffle ticket without being present?

Thanks,

This would be fun to find and check out. A scale model of the solar system. I have a pretty good idea where to look for it.

That was really cool Mike! Nice find!

I think it would be really cool if people brought some lights to put on their planes for a night photo with the the full moon. We have so many really good photographers coming the pictures will be superb. Bring some cool lights and let's light up the desert!
