I'm the guy that had a tree fall on his plane and total it less than 2 weeks before an around the U.S. adventure. I has a 1956 C172 that I'd worked on a bunch getting it ready to go. This is what I got to replace it, another 1956 C172, Horton Stol, A&P/IA owned and hangared last 10 years. On the grass at 1C3. Hoping to do the same trip this coming summer. I know, the wheel pants have got to go.

Very nice looking plane and what's really neat is you're from Norway. Some of my relatives came from Strand.

1969 Cessna 172K (Valor Red)

This is the plane I soloed in, and then bought a few years later. It is now my child.

To my knowledge, that's the original exterior. The engine is pretty well original, too. Not sure on the prop, though.

I don't know, they are kind of spiffy and if I they stayed on through my landings they should survive most everything else.
