I worked with Chris Allen at AIPsource, very helpful and good customer service. The Aerofloor DOT was 69.95 per linear yard (51" wide). I will reuse the screws that attached my old carpet in select areas just to keep it in place. Without any screws, it doesn't seem to slide as the backing isn't very slick (fabric).

I hope that helps.

Re: Project Retro Wagon - 180A

Started cutting Selkirk foam for the interior panels. I'm doing 1/2" foam around the bottom and firewall, and 1/4" foam everywhere else. I figure the bottom panels will see more abuse (feet, baggage, etc) and the added protection should outweigh the weight increase. I ordered 23', which should be plenty. Once you get into a groove, cutting the foam goes pretty quickly. Measure twice, cut once. ;)

Panels in for reference, I left a fair amount extra on each panel for final trimming prior to glue.

My doors were in need of a little TLC, so this week I added a new hinge, window and seals.

New window from Great Lakes.

New seals. Expensive, but far better than the stock seals I removed.

Looking good, Matt! I won't be too far behind you with the Selkirk foam. Which door seals did you get? Did you get the ones from aircraftdoorseals.com.? Let me know how you like them that's what I'm planning on getting.

Yep, those are them Rob. Expensive and thick, but should provide an excellent seal.

Re: Project Retro Wagon - 180A

Seats came back, very excited!

The shop finished the seats, wow!. They are simple, clean, comfortable and LIGHT! I can't believe how slim they are, yet still very comfortable. Shaved off over 33 lbs for the 3 seats, which is nearly half the weight of the old seats! I'm very excited to try these out on long trips. The old seats were terrible after a few hours.

It's very exciting seeing it all come together.

Jim/AK: the shop is called Front Range Custom Upholstery. Took a while, but worth the wait.

Ha, I think back in the early 70's, these were simply amazing. Sure held up well over the last 40 years. Soy nailed it, "groovy".

Re: Project Retro Wagon - 180A

Good progress this week.

Most of the Selkirk foam is in. Panel only has a little work left. AirGlas carbon fiber extended baggage and F.A. Dodge firewall battery box installed. Not much left, hope to button this project up and put it on the scales soon.

Putting the nut rivets in for the extended baggage.
Image

Extended baggage installed! Can't say enough good things about the quality of this kit. Great fit, very strong, easy instructions to follow and very LIGHT!
Image

Took a while to take measurements and make cuts for the Selkirk foam panels. With all the panels cut, it was time to glue them in (not quite finished yet).

Hitting it hard next week.
