I agree about the memory thing. Yes, it was that time with Big John. Will contact you later about flying.

Scott:

Since we are pilots and full of crap, I'll contribute to the crappers as well.

You're never too old to learn something stupid.

Re: Red Hills Fly in

Thanks Rich! I'll post something on that soon. I'm taking names of all those who wish to contribute to the shit aspect of the fly-in. :D

Bummed we won't be able to attend the fly in this year......the kids are showing their animals at the county fair over the Memorial Day weekend. Can't wait to see the pics and videos!

Re: Red Hills Fly in

For those who can't attend the fly-in in May, there is another event at Red Hills that is not being put on by me. These is Jack and Myrna's family Easter feast. Everyone is always welcome. I plan on flying in. It's pot luck so bring something if you can, if you can't don't worry, I'm sure there will be plenty of food. There's also an Easter egg hunt for the kids.

Fill out the waiver and come on in!

It will be held on the Saturday between Good Friday and Easter Sunday, so Saturday April 19th.

Re: Red Hills Fly in

Thread bump. We've only got three confirmed guests on the event. If you're planning on attending, be sure to sign up. We're still on!

I'll be getting shitter pricing soon too, so you folks that said you'd help, thank you! I'll be hitting you up soon!

Re: Red Hills Fly in

Darn, looks like the flynengr family will go 0 fer 2 on the Red Hills events.

I stopped by and introduced myself to Jack this past Sunday. What a great guy! Encourage everyone to fill out the waiver Scott prepared before showing up..Jack is worried about his liability and it would be difficult for him to keep an open door policy if the liability becomes an issue.

Aren't they the greatest? How did you like his setup there? My dream home. Okay... my dream property. :)

I need to pay him a visit and get him the liability waivers I have thus far.

I am still planning to come and contribute to the heads-including cash. 5/24-25 works well for me weather permitting from Tahoe. Looking forward to the gathering. Mike

Yes, Jack is a great guy. He kept saying I need to come back and have coffee with them sometime soon. I can imagine the walks he could take you on through his accumulated treasures.

This was actually the third time I had been there. Someone on the BCP site took me there years ago, and it was calm so we landed to the east. The next time I went in one day right after I filled out my waiver, but no one was home. Also learned that trip in that landing beyond the drainage swale is highly preferred #-o. Third time was Sunday, and I had seen Jack out with one of his friends before I circled and landed.

Again, I am sorry I am going to miss out on the scheduled events this year......Hopefully it is well received by the Moyles as well as BCP'ers and it will become a regular event.

They do make some good coffee. I'm not a coffee drinker but I drink some whenever I'm there. :) Be sure to ask for some of Jack's fancy froo-froo French cream for your coffee.

I plan on being there for the Easter Fly-in but I'll be out of town over Memorial Day weekend.

California is a bit too far from Virginia to be a practical weekend destination for me. Post when you start the drinking and storytelling and I'll open a tall one and toast your good times. It does look like a great destination and is within striking distance for a lot of pilots. Sigh...

Re: UPDATED: Red Hills Fly in 5/17-5/18

Flew to Red Hills again today to attend Jack and Myrna's Easter Shindig. I actually got my wife to get in the airplane and go with me today! Also ran into Joey there. We couldn't stay long because the winds were picking up and my wife is a VERY nervous flyer so we only stayed about an hour or so.

Now for the big update.

Jack and Myrna have a scheduling conflict the on the weekend I picked. So we've moved the fly-in to the weekend prior. I hope this doesn't cause too much difficulty for anyone planning on attending. I'm also going to call the portable toilet place this week so those of you who were going to help me with shit detail, I'll be calling on you!

So now the fly in is rescheduled for Saturday May 17th and Sunday May 18th. Just a casual affair. Just getting together to camp, BS, and maybe fly to some local strips and then breakfast in the morning.

Re: UPDATED: Red Hills Fly in 5/17-5/18

I ordered the portable toilet today for the fly-in and I'd feel too "crappy" to ask for money for this. I don't want to make a stink about this. I think I can pull $100 of some bodily orifice. The economy may be shitty but... okay enough with the scat jokes.

Maybe the nice gentlemen who were offering to help monetarily could bring something to the flyin instead? Beer? Snacks? Non-beer for us non-beer drinkers? Buy me breakfast?

There is no real agenda to the fly-in at this point. We may hit a local strip or two, fly the Death Star trench and head up to Columbia for breakfast. Or whatever. Let me know if y'all have any other ideas.

We're still on!

I'll try to drop in for a bit on sun morning.

I filled out the waiver form just now and hit submit. Is that all I need to do?

Re: UPDATED: Red Hills Fly in 5/17-5/18

Just bumping this thread up. I am attending. I have another event on Saturday morning I want to attend but planning to be into Red Hills by mid afternoon/early evening. I think Sunday morning we should go fly the trench at a minimum and then over to Lodi or if there's folks who are outside of the local area maybe a run to Columbia for Brunch to check out the town. Hoping to see some new faces. If anyone is headed home to the West on Sunday and is comfortable with 500ft I have two cool places I'll take you into.

And if you're lucky you'll get a bottle of fresh honey at one of the stops! :D Too bad the 170 isn't done or I would be going.
