Just giving this thread another bump. If you're still coming please let us know and join in the potluck. So far only Joey and I are bringing anything.
Joey is going to bring some potato salad and maybe some buns. I'm going to bring some bottles of soda and plates and plastic forks and stuff. I'll probably bring a couple of burger patties too. One for me and one for someone who forgets to bring something.
Anyone else coming? What are you bringing?
Just a reminder that everyone is welcome. This is a large fairly easy strip to fly into. The approach is a little tricky but you have a lot of room to roll out.
The Red Hills strip is located near Columbia (O22). GPS coords were posted early on in this thread. Come on out!
Pattern is left hand, land to the west. Use 127.475 to make your calls.
I was totally planning on this one. However with the plane down for annual and the boss surprising me with weekend work I don't think I will be making it sorry guys. I was looking forward to meeting a lot of you
The Moyle's have asked we don't show up before Saturday as they won't be home Friday. So, any time Saturday is fine. They have tables and chairs so no need to bring any of that. Just bring your sleeping bag and tent. They also said we can use their BBQ.
Bringing a pot roast with all the trimmings. I could hardly stand it last night while is was slow cooking. We plan to come in Sat morning from Bridgeport, winds permitting.
I will be there mid Saturday and stay the night. How is the potluck looking (besides the pot roast that's up in the air)? I will bring some wine (I'm in the business), but not sure what else? Is there cell phone coverage at the ranch? You should have received my release form yesterday. Thanks Douglas
I will bring some sides to contribute to the Potluck. I'm just brining a marinated chicken breast for the grill. There is cell coverage and 4G at the ranch. Jamestown is just up the road a little ways. Anyone else want to swing by. The ranch is gorgeous and very secluded. For those not familiar, many movies and series were filmed on this ranch including Back to the Future 3, The unforgiven, little house on the prarie, and Bonanza.
the realities of fatherhood and suburban youth sports obligations have once again conspired against me... due to last night's humbling 8-0 loss in the first round of the tournement, the boys have to play ball saturday night instead of monday...
Scott, Thanks for getting toilet on site, I'll bring a donation to put in the pot. I've got some shish kobobs and nice cheese and crackers, tea and pellegrino. Looking forward to meeting you all!
Many thanks to all who show up to the 1st Annual Red Hills Fly-In!
Chris Rich Hawk Douglas and Julie Joey
It was so nice getting to sit and talk with all of you! And of course many thanks to Jack and Myrna Moyle! I may have organized the fly-in, but Jack and especially Myrna MADE the fly-in. You'll never find two more gracious and hospitable folks.
I agree, the Moyles could not have been more gracious and hospitable. The company was great, the food was good (and plentiful) and even the weather was good.
A good time was had by all of us. Thank you Scott, Jack and Merna.
We all have pictures, we will get them online as soon as possible.
Thank you to our gracious Host & Hostess, Jack & Myrna Moyles. I have never met anyone who could make you feel more welcome at their home. It was great meeting some other BCP'ers and sharing information with each other.
