Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

On a recent trip into Hells Canyon on the Snake River at Temperence Creek Ranch, OR across the River from Big Bar, ID.

Image

She, Shelley, gets her mail once a week from the mail boat.

Image

Do not go into the Ranch, w/o emailing them first to get permission to land.

There were a couple of Cubs upriver at Sluice Creek airstrip.

There was about a 100 head of elk in the middle of the picture above the airstrip.
Shelley makes a great breakfast.

Great Pictures John. Did you get the full tour at Temperance Creek? It sure looks a lot greener than last time I was there.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Another red prop gravel bar photo. I only have one more local gravel bar to land, but its near the base of a dam so is a one-way. Had the right wind today but I think it's probably prudent that I alert the dam authorities that I'll be landing there so they don't call Johnny Law on me thinking it's a terrorist attack. It will have to wait for another day. After this I worked on wheel landings on sand bars on down the river. Yes, I did say wheel landings. I know, I was shocked too. Seems there actually IS an appropriate place and time for them - like here - who knew.

Re: Where did you fly today?

Tyler, We've got to get you up in the float plane, get you some real water landings! Maybe this coming week, when the sun is going to make another appearance.

Image

that pic of the float plane was taken up at detroit reservoir, last summer. Let the fun begin!!!!! :D

I was thinking Terry ought to take Tyler in the 180 out for some water play on the river to show him how it is done, shall we say immerse him in the subject so to speak!

Congratulations. Looks a little different from when I saw the aircraft in the hangar. Is that Green Peter? See you this Summer. Two Champs on floats in Oregon now. Good work John.

Note: called Larry's today, still in Colorado

No shit John, someone needs to teach that kid that tires are for terra firma and floats are for water. :-)
And some say stay off the water in a trike!

So who is it going to be, Dave or Tyler....the first out in the middle of the river, full blown nose gear water skiing?

Tyler that pic is awesome, be careful trying to out do that one.

Thanks guys! If I can get a "Whooeee Baby...!!" out of Pops I must be doing something right 8)

It was fun to play a little and see what was possible, and it looks like I got the money shot, so no need to push my luck any more in the water. I'll have some video edited up soon so I can cherish the memories until I get a butt-dragger or some floaty things 8)
