Where did you fly today?

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Where did you fly today?

I wouldn't land it with wheel pants, but anything 8.50 and bigger would work (it's bumpy), probably 1500'. Important to know that it's in fantastic shape right now, it's not always like that.

Wow, what a Shangri-La that place is, and a place to land a plane to boot. Too perfect., well, could use some scantily clad bikini women playing about in the falls. or having splash fights near the shore. Anyone good with photoshop?

Photoshopping that image would not be a good idea, we don't need the government deciding there is partying (or anything else) going on there and deciding it's better to close it.

Re: Where did you fly today?

I haven't been doing much flying since the Skywagon project stated, but today I got to knock the rust off in a straight 170. She was a bit rough around the edges, but she was a solid flyer. I took her out to Katama on Maratha's Vineyard and it felt real good to be back on the grass. Was a totally amazing day here in Eastern MA.

Checking out the high country strips after a long wet winter.
Look to be in excellent shape.
Still can't seem to get the settings on the GoPro right.

Re: Where did you fly today?

It was such a nice day I couldn't wait to get off work and go flying. A gorgeous view looking at the Olympic mountains across the Hood Canal.

Here's a view of the Naval Ship Yard. It would be fun to do touch and go's off an aircraft carrier. (without the arresting cables of course)

Heading to Vashon Island to look at the UFO sculpture.

Whoever built this did a fantastic job

Re: Where did you fly today?

Those aliens did a great job, a really good looking UFO! That reminds me of a friend in Montana who buried a derelict Avid Flyer nose down in the ground, looking like it had just impacted. Ha ha.... When that surplus place, Smith and Edwards out of Ogden, had some missile looking things, I came close to buying one and planting it similar to the Avid. I have also been keeping my eyes open for a cheap (free) old cabin cruiser, so I can plant it in one of my rolling hills so it looks like it's cresting a wave. The best yard art I've ever seen was the guy in Oregon who took an old VW, and raised it in the air about 12' on segmented spider like pipe legs, very well done and it became pretty famous. Having metal working skills, plenty of property, and a crane, is a bad combination [-X

Volkswagon? Really? Sorry, never heard of it. ;-)

Now the Cadillac Ranch, that is yard art. I was fortunate to see it the year it was created, 1974.

It does appear somebody has tagged them since though.

Just a local flight to show him what's up.

This is a new separation plant for the gas lines we have been building. In Summerfield, Ohio.

More drought flying. Different creek. About a mile from here the creek goes through a shear rock wall canyon. Spooked about 40 Aoudad, two Elk, and some turkeys.
