Ya, knew the frame was steel, had them both removed and the outside halves are aluminum. I just found it odd that all the Cessnas in the local flying club and other various ones I have looked at, the steel frame is unpainted, just bare steel. I ended up painting black. Looks clean and it is protected.
Would love to see a pic of how your window frames came out
Don't have a good close up at the moment but here are two photos, one in the booth and one with one door together. Maybe can zoom in a bit.

Looking good. Not wanting to stir up trouble but I ask before if you were going to install the serial number correct 1955 tail wheel steering cables since you used the tail cone from an earlier 170? If you are not how do you plan to document and approve the change? If you are installing the the correct tail wheel steering system remember you have to do that before installing the horizontal stab. Just questions from an IA who has owned two 55 170's, a 54 and a 49 and straightened out paper work errors on all of them.

Thanks guys. Lots of help getting to the end. It really is coming together as I had hoped and envisioned. This whole smoke with a mile vis isn't helping the test flight haha, such is life.

Really, really nice!
I hope you haven't forgotten how to fly during all this time that you've been putting the ol' bird together!

Kyle, fantastic job! I'm glad I got to see her in person and talk with you last August when William brought four of us out from Thomas Creek.
Hope to see you next year!
