1960 Cessna 182C Taildragger Conversion

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

Finally some progress to report. The engine took longer coming back than expected and also elected to install an engine monitor. Just waiting on a few parts now.

Great looking, the 182C has the reputation of being the fastest of the type - interesting to get real life performance from this excellent conversion.

I've heard the same about the 182D...which sits on shorter gear (less drag) than the 182C.

I've always heard that about the D model as well, though I think the speed gains of either having the fast back and the slant tail would be negated by the addition of the square tail required by the STC. Maybe it's all a wash after the nose appendage falls off. Either way that plane is gorgeous, seriously nice work Rich!

Re: 1960 Cessna 182C Taildragger Conversion

Agreed! Losing that big heavy nose gear has got to be a huge win drag wise.

Gorgeous plane.

The Pearl is alive! My buddy Chuck and I flew from 32S to KUZA in three days. She flies like a dream! Rigged properly and powered by a zero time O-470-50 PPONK with a new MT TWO BLADE.

Dealing with fuel venting overboard issues, EI-CGR-30P fuel calibration issues. Otherwise, once these issues are resolved I’ll begin addressing the panel

Sorry for getting behind! It's been super hectic, with my wife's family camp out, birthdays, life and and a million other things.
Here are a few pictures before Chicodeman launched off with The Pearl.
