2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle!!!

What does everyone think about a raffle at the BCP fly-in? Would people be willing to throw in $10 per ticket for a chance to win some cool stuff and help out a great organization? I'd be willing to make a few phone calls/emails to some businesses that might be willing to donate gear, discounts, gift certificates, pilot supplies, etc. We could have the drawing(s) after the potluck dinner, plus, it'll give Rob another excuse to get everyone's "attention".

All money raised would to go a good cause. I'm thinking a nice donation to the Recreational Aviation Foundation ( http://www.theraf.org ) and the Idaho Aviation Foundation ( http://idahoaviationfoundation.org ). If anyone has any ideas or would like to donate something, please let me know. I know it's only a few weeks away, but I figured I'd give it a shot and see how it goes. PM me or shoot me an email at [email protected]

I'll see you guys in a month!

ONLINE TICKET SALES
You can Paypal via [email protected] $10 for each ticket purchased. Put BCP.org 2011 JC Fly-in Raffle in the header line. In the comments section, put your board member name, your real name, your email address, and your physical address. I will email you back your ticket number(s), and during the drawing, the numbers drawn will be written down and posted with who won what.

ONLINE RULES:
Online ticket SALES WILL END SATURDAY JUNE 18TH AT 11:59PM (1 week prior). Place your order by then or tell someone at the fly-in to buy your ticket with cash. ALSO, ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL ONLY HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN THE TOP THREE PRIZES (MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN NON TOP THREE PRIZES***). We believe this is fair and that it keeps the spirit of the raffle at the fly-in, but will also generate the greatest donation for the RAF and the IAF. AND LASTLY, if you win and you're not present, you PAY FOR SHIPPING.

*For those of you that plan on attending, you may buy tickets at any time, either online via Paypal or at the fly-in via cash. By purchasing your tickets online, it will have no effect on your chance of winning all prizes as long as you are in attendance during the raffle. (Please provide all required info listed above in case you cannot attend.)
**Due to weather, fires, or an act of God, if the fly-in should be canceled, raffle sales will be reopened the following week, ALL ticket sales will be eligible to win ALL prizes, and the raffle will be held via video. Please folks, be safe and don't push your limits!

Good luck to everyone!

Matt I am in for a ticket. I don't think there are 2 finer organizations out there than RAF IAF. I'll throw in a bottle of Jack Daniels and at QT. of airplane oil for the prize table.

Cheers...Rob

Tom Weiss perished in a mid-air collision October 12, 2014. He was an enthusiastic and beloved contributor here for close to 10 years, and he will be missed greatly.

Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

Cool, sounds like this is a go then. I spent all morning calling and emailing various companies to see what I can come up with. Once I get a confirmed donation, I'll post what they donated along with a company logo.

Great idea, I'm in for a couple tickets.

Maybe if people have some flying gear they don't need/aren't using, bring along to donate. I have a headset I won't use. stuff like that. Maybe? No?

Emmett, A headset would be great! I don't want to turn this into a "I'm cleaning out my hangar and want to donate my junk" raffle, but something like this would be perfect!

I'd buy a ticket, particulary if it helps either of those organizations.

Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

I will buy a ticket! I will ask around and see if I can come up with something. If we end up with gobs of stuff perhaps a silent auction might work out better otherwise Rob will probably win everything :)

Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

Just talked with a rep from Lightspeed, whose headquarters is about a mile from my house. Matt and I doubled-teamed them. They're going to donate a Zulu. That should be worth the risk of blowing $10 :) Once again, I'm proud of our Oregon based aviation companies.

Thanks for the help on that one Z, I think we should just say a ticket is $10 now that we're getting some wonderful stuff.

I still have about 8 emails I'm waiting to hear back from.
