Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

TWO WEEKS LEFT for online sales. I'm just hanging out all day on the computer waiting for someone to buy some tickets. I don't even think we have 50 tickets sold yet, and I have a feeling that we still have a few more donations to add to the list.

ONLINE TICKET SALES
You can Paypal via [email protected] $10 for each ticket purchased. Put BCP.org 2011 JC Fly-in Raffle in the header line. In the comments section, put your board member name, your real name, your email address, and your physical address. I will email you back your ticket number(s), and during the drawing, the numbers drawn will be written down and posted with who won what.

ONLINE RULES:
Online ticket SALES WILL END SATURDAY JUNE 18TH AT 11:59PM (1 week prior). Place your order by then or tell someone at the fly-in to buy your ticket with cash. ALSO, ONLINE TICKET SALES WILL ONLY HAVE A CHANCE TO WIN THE TOP THREE PRIZES (MUST BE PRESENT TO WIN NON TOP THREE PRIZES***). We believe this is fair and that it keeps the spirit of the raffle at the fly-in, but will also generate the greatest donation for the RAF and the IAF. AND LASTLY, if you win and you're not present, you PAY FOR SHIPPING.

***For those of you that plan on attending, you may buy tickets at any time, either online via Paypal or at the fly-in via cash. By purchasing your tickets online, it will have no effect on your chance of winning all prizes as long as you are in attendance during the raffle. (Please provide all required info listed above in case you cannot attend.)

Another donation! =D>

Jeppesen has been kind enough to donate a cool pilot backpack.

This is a well made little backpack with plenty of room for your headset, charts, pens, etc. I've seen one up close and it'll hold a ton of stuff. Which is good because I now have a ton of extra stuff to haul up to JC this year!

$10.00 per ticket. Everything we get, we donate. 8)

Also, the online rules are found on each page (2nd post from the top on this one). If you email it to a flying friend, please copy and past the online rules in there.

Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

You guys are keeping me busy! =D> =D> =D> Keep em coming!

For everyone that ordered some tickets today - THANK YOU, I'll an email to you later tonight. I'm actually at work today and I don't want to look like a carnie filling out a bunch of raffle tickets.

A few people have asked for some PayPal help, so let’s see if I can go Zane on this and create an online tutorial.

You must have a PayPal account to send money. It's free and secure, and you can pull money directly from your bank account, or use a debit/credit card (normal fee's apply for seller-us). If you don't have a existing Paypal account, click here to join. (it only takes a minute)

Once you have a Paypal account, click HERE to send the money in 3 easy steps.

On page 1, enter the dollar amount (in amounts of $10's), (click on friends and family if it appears). On page 2, you enter [email protected] as the recipient, and your email address as the sender. If you aren't already logged in, Page 3 will log you in. Page 4 will ask you to confirm, you can also add the info such as name, board name, and address here.

I don't really like that PayPal charges 3-5.9% as a fee, but it is what it is. There's not an easier way to pay online out there, and I don't' really have time for everyone to send in a check. This also is secure and keep tracks of everything (easy to send refunds if need be). If you can wait to pay cash, that'll save a few pennies for the RAF/IAF. Not a big deal either way.

I thought you were going to use the money to buy oil for your airplane. Hey Matt did you get the leak fixed? What was it?

Cheers...Rob

It's coming from a leaking spot on the engine!

Trust me I'm swamped right now. I'll have to chat with you offline about it. Not having fun this week. I've had to cancel going flying twice today and probably won't get a chance the rest of this week.

Hey Rob, I just plan on winning 13qts of oil at the fly in. As long as input is greater that output I'm good right? Besides, it's gotta leak a little bit, how else would I know I have any oil?

Re: 2011 Annual Johnson Creek Fly-in - Saturday night raffle

Quick Update

1) I've had people contact me about a Plan B in case of terrible weather, fires, or other acts of God. If the fly-in is cancelled (heaven forbid), this will be the plan B for the raffle. I will reopen online tickets sales on Sunday, June 26th, through Wednesday, June 29th. All tickets will be available to win all eligible prizes. A video drawing will be held on Friday night July 2nd picking the winning tickets. Even though this isn't a great solution, we feel this the best alternative. Please, please, please, don't push your limits and do something unsafe trying to get to the raffle. Nothing is worth the safety of you and your passengers, not even a free heli ski trip in Cordova, Alaska with free meals and lodging.

2) It has been asked that the raffle donate some of the ticket sales to Johnson Creek and the caretakers. I think this is a great idea BUT (throw me in front of the bus if you'd like) I can't do this. When I sent out dozens of emails and made dozens of calls asking businesses to donate to our good cause, I listed that the non profit organizations of the RAF and IAF would receive 100% of all sales raised. I made it very clear that no one else was making any profit. I have to keep my integrity and uphold that. This can certainty be discussed for future raffles, but to be fair to everyone, I must stand by this. I strongly encourage everyone to help out Johnson Creek and add to the donation box. I apologize in advance if this causes any hard feelings.
