Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

Work flight is done, tanks are topped off, and all my gear is packed in the Carbon Cub. Launching here in a few for McCall for fuel / food, then into JC. I don't have a Spot yet  , but I'll have my phone on me for any adverse text updates, 719 six four zero 4675. Hopefully there's a good place to park this plane and somewhere near a fire for my tent, but no biggie!

Wonderful morning. The winds seem to be a little gusty at times, but it's straight down rwy 17. Almost 70 planes here already. WOOT WOOT

If someone sees Tom W, he is in a red and white 1955 Cessna 170, let him know that they found his son's cell phone at the Flying B Ranch. It is going to be flown to McCall later this afternoon and they can pick it up at McCall Aviation. What are the chances? Aviation people are the best :)

Tom Weiss perished in a mid-air collision October 12, 2014. He was an enthusiastic and beloved contributor here for close to 10 years, and he will be missed greatly.

I just talked to Glidergeek. He said he's going to hang out at McCall Aviation for a while before heading back to JC. He's in a Tan/Maroon stripped 180 with his wife and two dogs. Maybe they can catch him and take to cell phone to JC???

Just home and still tweaking on the trip! What a great time getting to meet everyone.

....In honor of the legendary "Coyote Ugly" and his 62 or 63 birthday today (and the fact I had to take a leak), I could not resist landing somewhere high on a ridge today. This one was just over 9600'.

Heres to you Mr. Ugly! It was my pleasure getting to meet you! Happy Birthday!!

Erin and I made it home safe after a great flight back across Oregon. The gorge was really light winds and quite pleasant, even saw some paragliders at Bingen.

Thanks to everyone that showed up and made for another incredible year of seeing old friends and making new ones. I'm sorry I ran out of fly-in shirts. :) I'm still pretty high from the trip, currently sipping a brew at the pub. Cheers.

PS: post your pics and videos in emflys' photo and video thread. Can't wait to see them.

Wow, what a EPIC week/end! Kneel and I made it back safe and in good time.

Thanks everyone for an amazing fly-in! So much to say, but I need to unpack and settle down. My veins are still buzzing!

Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

Hey everyone,

What a great weekend. I can't believe it is over already. I came and went too fast.

We made it home safe around 1300. After breakfast at Smiley Creek, we hit GNG for fuel and then flew most of the way back in a loose formation with my friend in the 172. We also had a great tailwind going home.

Thanks to everyone for a another great fly-in. As soon as I get back to work, I'll get working on pics/videos. It was so good to see old friends and meet knew ones...especially those that I know from posting on the board, but have never met in person. Zane and Matt, thanks for the hard work on the raffle and swag. We will be looking for those shirts to get back from the printers so we can get them ordered.

I hope everyone got home safely. Take care,

Cory

Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

I made it back home to Emmett on my low and slow road trip. I was bummed the Deadwood Summit Pass was till snowed in south of Landmark. I was going to head down to Red Fish Lake to hang with some friends and then down to Smiley Creek to hang out with Erick (DokMow) and Mr Russ (Glidergeek). But, by the time I got back to Cascade I ended up taking some trials back to Emmett and calling it the weekend.

It was great to meet a few more of you guys in person. Sorry I didn't say "Later" to some of you when I left. Thanks Zane, Matt, and Kneel for a great Fly In and raffle!! And Matt Potratz story was very inspiring!!

Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

Ed and I made it home to Sterling CO about 4:45 pm with a single stop at Afton for fuel & food. Good tailwind accross Idaho ( talked to Matt & Kneel along the way). Leaving Afton it was bumpy all the way home..flew through a thunderstorm west of Rawlins and got to see some cloud to ground lightning up close!
Good to see old friends and meet some new ones..a great time!
Safe flying to all!!
Now all I have to do is get all of the pictures and videos downloaded.
