Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

I just realized I need to get some food / cooking sorted out for the trip. Last weekend the truck brought everything for me and I didn't have to worry..haha. I don't even have a camp stove in my gear yet

Show off your bratwurst BBQ skills over the campfire grate... :) Wieners and buns are always reliable, but then you have to mooch condiments...

I've adopted the most ultralight camping setup possible this year...lots of Backpacker's Pantry. I think I'm too big to live with the LSA max gross.

I have camping food but no stove. So I either find one or I probably will just bring hotdogs and buns haha. I can just fly out for breakfast!

I have some in my car, but after retiring from the military recently, I'm really trying to avoid eating them. I found a Big 5 here locally, crappy selection of stuff, but they have some camp stove solutions that will fit in the Cub.

Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

Plane gassed, cleaned, back seat pulled out. Assembling camping gear now before heading to the grocery store for supplies.
Heading over with the sunrise tomorrow.
It's like Christmas Eve for kids! Hope I can sleep tonight.
See you tomorrow 10:00ish.

Kneel and I made it in record time. Light winds, no clouds, no turb.

Sun is out and and the beer is cold. Wahoo!

Hey all you BCP folks who make it to JC have a great time and enjoy the left over firewood stacked about the camp sites, especially if there is kindling with it... Oh and breakfast last week at the lodge in Dixie Town was tremendous (and very reasonable) and no reservations required!

Re: 2011 BCP.org Fly-In Johsnson Creek - Departures, Routes,

Might be interesting getting out the Portland area tomorrow morning. We have this marine layer that is moving in and will likely settle over night, so who knows what I'll wake up to. Winds are forecast to be a little rowdy tomorrow too, so I might delay until friday morning. I'd rather not subject my fiancee to the buckin' bronco show. Afternoon TS forecast for McCall, so we're either out of here earlier, or not at all. Call me a weenie, I don't care. I like to be able to set my coffee cup on the glareshield.

See ya'll soon!
