By golly this is fun. Going to lunch with another NW Oregon BCPer. Straightail. Tomorrow lunch with Desert Rat. DR flies a white and red Maule M7, M7Flyer Dave, who is going to Mexico with me, has a white and red Maule M7, and I have a w/r M7.

What do they say...birds of a feather flock together. #-o

I wish you all as much fun as I am having!

Hey Rob,
on your way back, swing in to punta francisquito,it is a real nice place on the north side of the bay from mulege.

Not much of anything there, but real peaceful and the beers allways cold. 8)

I have not been there in a bit(10-12)years but It had little shacks right on the beach that went for $5 or $6 a nite.

Be safe, and take lots of pictures.

Re: 3/3/11 Baja Bush Pilots Whales 11

Rob- Last time I flew into SanFrancisquito...the runway pavement was FUBAR and I landed just parallel the runway. That might have been back in the 80's, though...ha, ha, maybe they have fixed it. Neat place, definitely out of the way, the bar is right on the beach and the beer is ice cold.

Now Iceman, "flying into IMC' is fun for those of us that are qualified and competent, but for those that aren't, it IS probably like flying into Ciudad Juarez on a Sat night, drunk and not speaking Spanish!!!! There are definitely places to avoid!

Wishing you all a very enjoyable Baja Adventure.

I'll be back in Palm Desert Wednesday the 9th. I'll be here till I get a weather window back to Oregon. Then I will be back in Palm Desert by truck March 21-26. So maybe during those times.

Re: 3/3/11 Baja Bush Pilots Whales 11

Did my 1st eApis departure to MEX and arrival back to USA. Took 30 minutes. No brainier.

Now all I have to do is call ahead at least 60 minutes and hit my time slot. No problem.

File a DVFR flight plan and open it. No problem.

Call FSS get a squawk code. No problem.

Talk to ATC verify radar contact. No problem.

Ba Da Bing. Fly da plane. No problem.

Cheers
