And you have a problem with that, why? I think it's a good thing :D Nevada is a "Wasteland". Don't go there!!

:D

Oh..... I believe Austin is just inside the "Nevada Triangle". So probably a very dangerous area to fly in. So do stay away!!

:D
A and I think we need MORE radiation around here. Folks are beginning to vote weird and stuff. I saw a Idaho plate on a car in FERNLEY! That's too close for me. Come pay your taxes at the casino then for heaven's sake go home.

Maybe a few too many Californians moved there?? :D

Re: Austin Fly-In 2012

My vote, if there is one, is for the 25th . . . . please!

The 18th is the Idaho Root Ranch Husky fly-in. I've missed out on Austin two years in a row as it's been on the same weekend as the Husky gathering. Would like to meet Pops and all the rest of you this year.

The Austin Lions Club rocks! What a fun time; we plan to be there to enjoy their great cooking. It is so great to see all the community support for this flyin.

Do people usually camp out at the airport for this fly in?

Awesome! We missed the one in 2010 and have regretted it since. We will be there! Flew by that area a couple of days ago and thought about it. Glad to hear that it is on for this year. I had never been over that way before. Can't wait to check it out! =D>

Re: Austin Fly-In 2012

Being based in NM, I have a bit of a problem, because I cannot fly for too long due to some medical conditions. So, I devised a plan: instead of using 2 days and staying in Austin, I'm going to use 3 days and stay in Ely. This cuts about an hour. Day 1 route goes AEG-GUP-PGA-1L9-ELY, next day early morning hop to TMT, carousing, late afternoon hop to ELY, and then going back on the last day. 6 hours in flight feels like more than I should be doing, but it's better than 7.

Sounds like a good plan. But, are you sure you don't want to stay at Austin Sat. night? That's when the fun starts (or at least the flying stories  ). Your plan going to is good. I would suggest a two day leisure trip back to NM if you can. Maybe a layover at Caveman on the way back to NM? :-k

That's just too much blood in your alcohol. Drink more tequila and we'll see ya at Austin. :)

If you want to go up, pull back on the controls. If you want to go down, pull back farther.
