I'm not sure, the Air Force should really start to consider our fly-in schedule before they start planning all these TDYs.

Hay, Pops, what do we need to bring as far as food and supplies, can we buy meals on the field. Coffee, breakfast? I have to have my starting fluid in the morning. We are planning on being there Fri. evening if the weather permits and leave first thing Sunday.

The local Sorority Gals are selling breakfast snacks on Saturday morning, The Lions Club is selling a big bar b q plate at noon on Saturday, and drinks all day, then pretty much the rest of the weekend, we are more or less left to our own devices.. I have a courtesy van to run into town if ya get starved down.. ha ha..

Oh,and my wife has coffee planned Sunday morning... And I'm not sure if anything else..

I'm looking forward to a fun weekend.. :D

Have a great time, everybody! Wish I could attend, but I blew my rental wad last weekend. Not owning an airplane sucks!

Re: Austin Fly-In 2012

I think weather should be really nice.. Tonight a pretty good smoke layer settled in just at sunset. Could look at the sun directly, pretty red. Still had 25 miles tho..

Winds aloft forecast for Saturday at 9k show winds from the south/SW, that should clear it up...

Re: Austin Fly-In 2012

I was hoping to make Austin but my airplane down will prevent the trip. I'll trying to make Idaho early fall -have to stop at Provo to do Jerry's annual. Maybe next year will be better-let's hope.Everyone have a good time.

Re: Austin Fly-In 2012

Well, we're not making it either. I thought maybe I'd drive out but what's the sense of that? I'm working on a portable radio/intercom install today. I bought an MGL V6 ( http://www.mglavionics.com/html/radios.html ) I know I don't have to have a radio but I'm not comfortable without one so that's that.

It's cleared up nicely here in Washoe County so it should be pretty nice out there. I'll meet y'all eventually.
