The Cessna 170 Bullshitliner

Hes about 7 months early with that April Fools Day post.

I admire his enthusiasm. I think a custom rebuild service might be easier to achieve. Who would not want a new 170B with more power. Just not in my budget.

Rebuilding/restoring/upgrading a 170 for a specific client to their specifications may have potential. Taking cash deposits “on spec” is chancy, does anyone recall the name Bede !!!

$20,000 might be 10% down to reserve a spot in line, that’s the only way I could see it, provided the customer already owns the plane. 2450 gross doesn’t sound believable either.

So for $20k you come to the table with an airframe, that’s not how his “marketing” reads !!!

I’m just saying $20k to reserve a place in line is more believable than getting anything close to what he’s presenting as a $20k restoration. Just glancing through what the ad presents, I’m guessing you’d be at $150k on the low end for a shop to give you a plane like that.

20 k gets you a production slot.

I don’t see him replacing every skin. And if he does one will never be finished. Talk about time consuming. They are not new airplanes. Sorry.

I'm gonna have close to $150 in mine in parts, not counting labor and no turbo let alone a 2450 gross weigh

Anyone who has ever met or dealt this this kid realizes this will never go anywhere other than to line his own pockets while he pumps his clients full of empty promises.

The word needs to get out before someone in love with aviation hands him a ball of money thinking they will get a killer airplane in return when all they will get is a lot of heartache and bitterness when the see how they've been ripped off.

My problem is he is advertising a brand new airplane. I get it. You can restore. I restored my cub. It’s still a 1968 fuselage and ribs. It’s not new. Its restored. That’s going to get him into trouble.
