Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

I'd paint the tips red also... wait I already did on my 170!

Thanks for that reminder. I'm headed to your gallery right now. I do think a polished wing look lends itself better to accented tips than a painted wing, but I'm too close to flying- I'm not about to get crazy with stripper now!

My 180 has red tips to go with the red LE. I like it and feel that it finishes it off nicely, so my vote is paint the tips.
Glad you got your first run up done! It looks great!

Great to see the progress DP! I can hardly wait to hear about how she fly's. As far as paint goes, Black leading edges make the airplane very difficult to see when coming straight at you, just a thought.

As long as you're painting, paint the tips red. Scuff the tips with sandpaper, and the paint will adhere fine.

Looks great!

Cool beans! I'm glad to see the old girl back "Home"

An FYI: The fellow I bought that airplane from picked it up new in 1952 at Witchita and delivered it to Cordova Air Service. Until I moved to MN, it had been exclusively in Alaska since new.

Thanks for the blast from the past!

There's MTV's old bird in the background again. What a lurker! That makes two 180Hp 170Bs with MT props in the same hangar. :D

Cowling fab and install is complete! \:D/ I also decided to go ahead and install Motoadve's 695 that I bought through BCP. That leaves only paint, W&B, and a huge paperwork party. #-o

Thanks Guys. I swear I'm not drawing this out just to see how long I can hold your attention! I can't think there's anyone more anxious than I am right now to fly it!

Real hard not to want to do this too! I know I should spend the money on gas/hours, but man that is going to be fun!

I sure don't want to discourage anyone who might be inspired to do this, but gas money won't even get you a call-back, unless your call sign happens to end with "heavy".

I'll be measuring this one in smiles per mile.
