Re: CO Front Range Meet & Greet/Fly-in - KGXY / 9:30 / 1/19/

Would love to join you guys, but January is already too full for me at work.

Please keep the front range fly-ins coming, and I'll plan to be a regular attendee whenever my schedule allows.

Sounds great. I like GXY. I'm in.

I'll organize another fly-in here at BDU. BTW, Tim Head is the airport manager not the owner of Journeys Avaiation - the FBO. That's Tracey Spence. He recently bought out the operation from the prior owners who shut down the BJC location. New management, new attitude, new energy.

Maybe I'll work something out for March. I don't think we can have too many get togethers...

Good to know, I'm glad there's some "fresh" attitude/energy at the FBO these days.

Feb/March works great, the only thing I can think of around that time is the Hooper fly-in (early March). There's plenty of good people at the BDU airport to lend a hand. And yes, the more reasons to fly, the better. ;)

I'm glad to see there's so much interest. We'll have to keep planning these.

Got it in the calendar. We will need a head count, I'm sure. You should call, Matt, but I'll also check in there later in the week.

I'll try to make it, either via a ride with someone, or if I can get checked out in something to rent.

Re: CO Front Range Meet & Greet/Fly-in - KGXY / 9:30 / 1/19/

Had lunch there today and got us set up for Jan 19th at 9:30 (just like the title of the thread! :P ). The more accurate the headcount as we get closer, the better, so if you haven't already indicated that you'll be there but you plan to come, post here, plz! They'll put the tables together so it'll be one big group, depending on how many we have. Saturday morning is always busier there, and so don't expect the fastest service--the kitchen is only so big. But the food's always good.

If the weather turns bad, don't worry about canceling--they'll understand. Otherwise, looking forward to it.

For those who haven't been there before, the Barnstormer is in the terminal building, and there are tie-downs right in front. Careful! More than one wingtip has been torn off by turning too close to the fence!TPA is 800'' AGL, roughly 5500' MSL. Left traffic on 16, 34, and 9; right traffic on 27. CTAF/Unicom on 122.8. AWOS on 135.175. All instrument approaches are usable, but BUFFS LOM has been in and out of service lately--not NOTAMed out right now, but who knows? The 27 VASI is OTS right now, but should be working soon.

Thanks Cary for asking the owners. That's great that they're going to go out of their way to assist our large group.

Put me down for +2.

Count me in for at least two. And I'll campaign for a couple more.

As folks chime in, I'll total it up and give them the heads-up a few days in advance.

Strike that, switching to a different make/model for checkout tomorrow, reserved one for this fly-in...so...

I'll be there, just 1.

The weather is looking great for next Saturday. (Sunny and 50°F =D> )

Does anyone else want to get in on the final headcount?
