Cool photos! Sorry I some how missed you Matt, was hoping to shake hands and shoot the bull!!

Ended up being a great trip even though it was cut short.... sorting through some photos, but got in a little off airport at 10,000ft, some fun back country strips, good exploring while taking in the fall leave change... some great folks and great conversation. Made some new friends! Couldn't really ask for more!

Big thanks to all who make this possible, and work out the kinks, keep us updated, etc. etc.

Hopefully by next Spring's fly-in, both my medical and my airplane will coincide. Yesterday I drove over to the hangar, puttered around a little, and sat in the airplane making airplane noises. It was such a nice day that I really wanted to go up, but my friend who will play PIC for me is out of town, and with ADS-B Out now, I'm not about to go up without someone else playing PIC for me.

P.S. Had to include the last picture of the absolutely massive gravel pit by I-70 just East of Idaho Springs. Everyone drives by and sees it--but I had no idea of the scale of what they've excavated. Wow.

Since I don't have Super Cub size fat tires, I always land past the entrance road--much smoother. But otherwise that looks pretty familiar. The wind must have not been much of a crosswind.

Nice pics! I wish I could have been there - would've been much more fun than my tour of japan, china and korea.

Fantastic pictures Ted & Gravity Knight. Those aspen trees really are the gold in them thar hills! I need to combine this fly-in with a visit to my daughter in Albuquerque next year. That will be challenging since getting back home to the Pacific Northwest can be challenging this late in the season. Still, the destination seems to justify the effort! Thanks for posting.
