You guys are awesome!! Thanks for keeping an eye on me!!!

It was a little sketchy getting out of Caldwell for a few seconds, but climbed to 9.5 and was perfect down to Austin. Dropped of Joe Jr, met up with Pops (Coyote Ugly), Teresa, and some of there friends. Hung out for about 30-45 minutes then I blasted off for Bishop. Joe was headed back to Caldwell in Pops RV4. Again, weather was perfect to Bishop (top off the tanks), then straight down to Fullerton. Picked up VFR Flight following direct to Fullerton just north of Edwards AFB and got cleared through the Restricted direct to Fullerton. All in all, turned out to be a perfect day.

Thanks again! If I'm able to, I'll keep an eye on you too......

Flying down the Owens Valley over 395 was perfect. You could see from 9.5 that the central valley was souped in. Good thing I wasn't trying to go to beautiful Bakersfield or Fresno

Actually, Santa was spotted at the Austin Airport today. Funny you should ask.
Image

Angel Flight flew in with 6 airplanes from the Las Vegas area to bring Christmas stuff for the local kids and also brought Santa with them. I just happened to get there a few minutes before them and Joe Sr, Teresa, local friends and townspeople fed the crew.

Some of the kids and people waiting for Santa.

Re: Flight Following

I'm headed back up to Caldwell, Idaho from the L A area (Fullerton, CA - KFUL) today. Looks like the weather is looking great most all the way (maybe some low clouds in the Boise area). Should be good flying and I'll have my SPOT on tracking (as I always do when flying).

My first route of choice is Fullerton to Bishop. Bishop to Lovelock (maybe a short stop in Fallon), Lovelock to Caldwell.
