Flying with RobW56

Did you fly somewhere cool, take photos, and feel like telling the tale to make us drool from the confines of our offices? Post them up!

Flying with RobW56

As others have done, I'm starting a new thread to document all of my flying and keep it in one spot.

I'm starting with a trip from last weekend. We flew up to Gravelly Valley to camp for the night. I took Travis, my brother in law, with me in the 170. Justin (dudestickle) took my other brother in law Mark in his 182. It was a chili night with temps dipping down to 20F or so. A good campfire kept us warm enough to drink Lagunitas IPA until midnight though.

Justin's 182 on the flight north from Rio Vista.

I'm jealous of the remote western airstrips that allow awesomeness like camping and shooting. You guys got it good out there.

Re: Flying with RobW56

I just discovered the cool diner at Petaluma Friday, while picking up a passenger. Nice little, busy, airport. The vineyards ofNapa and Sonoma valleys are pretty right now with the leaves in fall color.
Nice TR Rob. Hope to bump into you soon.

Re: Flying with RobW56

I was up for a while, but had to fly over and work on snowmobiles. I thought I saw Avid-flyer over Colusa late yesterday. Sunset flight was spectacular when the sun poked through under the cloud base. No pictures though, I was too busy trying not to hit geese.

It was a little wet but the ground was still pretty firm. It was crazy to see how much water was going down some of those creeks though.
