How many people name their airplane?

My 170 is named Sherbert. I'm still thinking of a good name for the Bearhawk, but have some ideas.

Who else names their airplanes?

I didn't name Her. But when I bought her the previous owner called her June. As in June Cleaver. I used to watch Leave it to Beaver when I was a little kid so it stuck

I have a '53 180 named Eugenia. Named after the original owner, Eugenia Heise. I think she was a past president of the ninety-nines in the fifties.

My plane is "Double Shot".
I came across a posting the previous owner made with the name and I can't imagine something more fitting (Whisky Whisky)

My polished 150 was Annabelle. My 7GCBC was Elvira. My C180 was Hank. Working on a name for the C206 I'm rebuilding.

My wife has sometimes referred to the 170 as 'his aluminum mistress'

The last two letters of the tail # are DW, so I just call her Delta Whiskey. Anything with whiskey is good. Looks like I am picking up a Champ in the next few weeks, hadn't even thought of a name.

Flip it around and it's not so good, even though it includes "whiskey".

There used to be a Zenith experimental at the home drome with an unfortunate tail number - something like N601WD (not sure about the first two numbers--the 1WD is all I really remember).

Every time he answered with "One Whiskey Delta", I'd almost crap my pants.

Besides, always know which way your aeroplane is pointed.

Bro. Between this and the poser bush pilot thread, I really think you should consider turning the computer off for a few weeks. Go work on your Bearhawk. Hard to name a pile of unassembled tube and fabric.

I offer exhibit A of why social media is bad.... the call out culture. Bro, don't you have something better to do? Your post is far more worthless than mine...

Besides, I've built more airplane in the last two weeks than most have in their lifetimes, and enjoying every minute of it. After bonding with it and bleeding on it, it will have a name....
