I thought the first flight would be kind of a "lets see how the Seneca flies", but no, straight under the foggles at 100 feet and first lost engine at 400. But I got through it, and then rode along as my buddy flew, same thing the next day, and then checkride the third.
The ride was 2.3 hours, two ILS, one VOR, one Localizer, and some holds, lots of engine outs, stalls, steep turns, and slow flight....all under the foggles. Ended up with a single engine, no flap, partial panel ILS to circle to land. Man was I ready for the victory beer.
I don't need an ATP, nor do think I ever will, but I did my written before the deadline last July and therefore got in with the old standards.
Now I am in Toronto for Flight Safety's Twin Otter training, I will be flying north of the arctic circle this year out of Deadhorse....brrrrrrr.
