Re: Interesting crash and bailout video

He has now made the UK papers:

https://www.theguardian.com/technology/ ... SApp_Other

This might have more serious consequences for him.

Re: Interesting crash and bailout video

“Jacob admitted in his plea agreement that he intended to make money through the video,” the release added.

He also admitted to lying to federal investigators after submitting an aircraft accident incident report and falsely claimed the plane fully lost power roughly half an hour after takeoff, the news release said.

“Jacob also lied to (a Federal Aviation Administration) aviation safety inspector when he said the airplane’s engine had quit and, because he could not identify any safe landing options, he had parachuted out of the plane,” it added.

20 years sounds about right. And because it's an illegal act, hopefully YouTube will drop the video so it can stop paying for court costs.

He is pleading guilty to obstruction of a federal investigation - he is getting busted for everything he did after the video, not for anything he did in the video. Meaning he is not pleading guilty for crashing the plane - just for lying about it and trying to destroy the evidence. That is why the video is still up. I was hoping this loser was going to get busted for the crash too - but that is probably why he pled out.

Re: Interesting crash and bailout video

I think the only good thing he did was clean up the mess he made on the side of the hill…and that’s what the feds are going after him for?

Plane Crashed in the Mountains near LA during fire season , Wreckage was removed without authorization, people on the ground could have been hit , the list goes on and on
But of course YOU see fault in the government’s actions

Lol, what??

Re read what I wrote, read it slowly and sound out the words

I find it hilarious that intentionally crashing a plane he gets a pass on, cleaning up his mess and lying to the every lying government is the one bridge too far

They should have gone after him for the crash, watching the video and pausing to see the fire extinguisher strapped to his leg, and the million other obvious things, I couldn’t imagine anyone wouldn’t find him guilty, myself included

Honest question, is it legal to intentionally crash an airplane?

Re: Interesting crash and bailout video

There ya go, I guess that answers my above question

91.13 Careless or reckless operation.
(a) Aircraft operations for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

(b) Aircraft operations other than for the purpose of air navigation. No person may operate an aircraft, other than for the purpose of air navigation, on any part of the surface of an airport used by aircraft for air commerce (including areas used by those aircraft for receiving or discharging persons or cargo), in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

You are ill informed about how Law works. (Suprise )

He is facing 20 years in Federal Prison. Its a Plea deal, so no appeal. Damn Good Job on the Prosecutor. No way out.
Now, the judge may go a bit softer as it is their discretion , but they saved money by not going to trial , and again .......20 Years
