Re: McKenzie River Trail Oregon, Mountain Biking. May 23rd

"They" just bumped the chance of rain up to 40% for tomorrow. Not sure what it's doing elsewhere including McKenzie Bridge but that's not a good sign for here. It stopped raining for 1 hour today. Just long enough for me to get out some tools, nail down one board and pack it up again! Mountains have been obscured for most of the day. I'm willing to stay optimistic but also want to be realistic. What say you? There's bound to be better weekends ahead!

I am likely all in for another weekend. The second and third in June are looking pretty good from here.

Up from 00S and back down on the trail is also a great ride!

Guys-

The wife and I are going to bag it.. Weather forecast looks like the probability for success is low so we are heading towards a less exciting and less weather dependent adventure... This has definitely been added to the must do list.. Let us know if you punt to another weekend.

Good luck and I hope the weather gods cooperate tomorrow.

I'm canceling for tomorrow. The Hoodoo webcam called it. No way that pass is going to be open in the morning at 7 am.

Will try again soon.

The next few weeks are packed: BFR this weekend in Hood River with Scottnt. Next weekend is Washougal MX. Otherwise, I've been in the mood to ride. Should just make this a recurring mission. I need a buddy from the PDX area who can haul bikes :)

If I wasn't in Texas #-o I'd like to get up there in late September maybe to camp and do some riding.

Too busy this week. The following Thursday would work for me. I think waterboy is in Greece flying the whirlybird.

Just about every weekend in August is free for me right now. Anyone?

Would love to ride this!
Im going to Seattle the last week of August for a week and will rent a Mt bike to ride the trails in the area.

How far is this from Seattle? I might rent a 172 a fly there.

I wonder if it was temporary for some local fire? I just checked for notams online and there are none for 00S. If that's not the case then maybe some further investigation is in order?? In the past the forest circus has given some BCP guys hastle at the strip because they wanted to dominate it and not play nicely.

It's a fair distance, probably a 3 hr flight in a 172.
