I land on little 2 track stuff that my mains just barely fit on lots of times. Many times it may be curving up a hill at the same time too. In my Highlander I do a full stall 3 point but the instant it wants to sit down I turn it into a wheel landing. By doing it like that I get the slowest landing speed possible, take away angle of attack, and can see perfectly where I'm going. It unloads the wings and loads the wheels which then gives me good traction for braking. While I'm braking I'm also very much steering with my brakes which works extremely well on the Highlander because the gear is forward and the tail is pretty heavy.
This method might not work so well in a light tail plane. I know I freak out some really good Cub and Scout pilots with what I can easily do with my brakes on this fun airplane! Another thing I like doing that I wouldn't want to do in a lot of other planes is my deadstick takeoff.
