New brakes

Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?

New brakes

Looks like I will need to replace one brake calliper on my 180H. So replace the one with factory scrap yard or both with aftermarket? Looks like a few options out there does anyone have experience with some of the aftermarket ones?

Re: New brakes

Bang for the buck by far is get one a used one. Simple rebuild with Scotch Bright and O rings if needed. I might have a set off a 180C in the next two weeks. If you want new go to Alaska Gear company and they should have what you need.

Helpful if you post which brakes you have.
FWIW Preferred Airparts has a lot of NOS parts, usually priced very reasonably.
Also FWIW Alaska Gear Company (fka Airframes Alaska) sells replacement Cleveland / ABI parts.

Re: New brakes

Going new with airframe Alaska. Used prices are high and would still require a rebuild. Mine lasted 57 years. Maybe time for upgrade. Just haven’t read much about the airframe Alaska brakes.
