New lightweight camping hammock/tent 20lbs
Avionics, airplane covers, tires, handheld radios, GPS receivers, wireless Wx uplink...any product related to backcountry aircraft and flying.
While I might not worry about it with a DC-3, I've yet to tie a hammock to my airplane...though I've seen other people do it. I've seen hammocks strung from the prop hub to a tie down ring, and while it looks dashing and debonair, it's not something I'd be comfortable with...especially after going through the misery of replacing engine mounts.
A hammock chair on a tie down ring is no problem (love them, by the way), as that's a 1:1 pull straight down, which is how the tie-down ring is engineered to be loaded. But a hammock tied to two points creates a vector force...the load on the anchors is significantly greater than the weight of the person in the hammock, and it's pulling sideways on the anchors.
Getting in and bouncing around while adjusted the covers adds a shock load on top of the vector force, and it's just a whole lot of pulling and torquing that I don't really want to subject my airplane to. I don't know if it would do damage, but it seems silly to find out.

Thanks for posting that. It looks like exactly what I need! I'm going to test the home-made version first.

I feel the same way when I see people throwing a tarp over the wing to create a sun shade. The amount of force a light wind will subsequently put on the ailerons and flaps is quite high.

I agree, thanks for posting that!
I think I'll build a homemade version and just stick with that.

I was able to try one out last weekend, I was skeptical while setting it up, but it was solid.

All I know if that it someone ever posts a folding e-bike that will carry 300 lbs, I'm gonna be out a LOT more than $500!

UH OH! I had some clients come in with a couple of these.
They looked pretty cool!
Speaking of ebikes..... I had a great ride last weekend from Johnson Creek, through Yellow Pine, on up the East Fork of the South Fork of the Salmon River (or maybe it's the other way around) up to the Stebnite mine and old town site. 41 miles round trip, my second longest ride. And, I had enough battery left for another 50 miles, easy! I was packing 3 batteries, 1 small, one larger, and one I stashed near Yellow Pine "just in case," and it wasn't needed at all, just the two were enough. If there is another folding ebike that can do that, and fit in my S-7S, I'm all ears. Then, just to top off a great weekend, I landed a 8200' ridge on the home, though i did have to wait for a hear of elk to quit bogarting the LZ. Point being, that kind of capability while biking, and still able to do off airport, it's a dream combo.

I used to camp with a hammock strung between the stinger and one of the float struts on a 185. Most excellent!
