NW Get togethers 2011

Here are the dates for the summer outings. I moved the San Juans up to hopfuly get some better weather, and added Stehekin.

July 8-10 San Juans (KORS)
July 22-24 Tieton State (4S6) changed to Stehekin (6S9)
August 19-21 Nehalem Bay (3S7)
September 9-11 McKenzie Bridge (00S)

Here is the link to last years thread.
If your going camping this summer and want to invite others along, this thread is a great place to post it. If you want to be by yourself, now you know where not to go when. :)
Fly safe

Re: NW Get togethers 2011

Just put McKenzie Bridge on the calendar, works out great with the work schedule.
Nice video Zane, that sun shine would be worth a million bucks right now!
We'll see what I can work out for the other get togethers.

Tom Weiss perished in a mid-air collision October 12, 2014. He was an enthusiastic and beloved contributor here for close to 10 years, and he will be missed greatly.

Re: NW Get togethers 2011

I believe weekend of Sept 10 is Antique fly-in 8) at Hood River airport. The word I heard is that some antique cars show up, too. I was told camping on the field (grass) is ok. Maybe someone with firmer knowledge can step in here with the scoop........ [-o<
At this point I am planning to attend to see the 'History-on-the-wing'......

I got it all on my calendar. I don't think I can make them all but, I got to get 'em written down before my wife plans something. It's a calendar turf war I guess you could say.

Re: NW Get togethers 2011

Mid May to early June I like to take my wife to Lucas Lodge. I just watch the weather and pick a perfect wx weekend. I'll let y'all know.

The Madras airshow is a must for me and the wife. I fly in Friday and go back to Troutdale Sunday. Night show Friday, day show Saturday. Friday night has live music beer and wine and a street party in town. If you fly in you get free admission and free pass into the pilot only hospitality tent.

I have a van there and a 2500 sq ft home. I welcome 3 couples to fly in and stay at the house.

Will try. It's right after our wedding, so it depends on the honeymoon...

Re: NW Get togethers 2011

Theresa and I will shoot for the San Juans and Tieton State. Have to work on the other weekends  Last time we camped at Tieton there was quite a ruckas in the middle of the night. It was like a chain reaction. One guy started yelling and pretty soon everyone was yelling at everyone else to shut up. Maybe this year we can be the cause the ruckas
