My heart goes out to all those involved in the accident at JC. I hope you will continue to fly and will come back to JC another day.
Trying to get to Lake Billy Chinook Sunday direct over the Cascades from the Willamette Valley, I chickened out of going through the two layers.

Headed North for the Columbia River Gorge to scoot under the layer and on to what I thought would be better conditions on the East side of the mountains.

I follow roads to Billy Chinook.

I follow rivers.

The next day to JC wasn't much better, but beautiful country.

We took two "lets go see" flights over the next two days, but didn't make it far.
The morning priorities, fire and coffee.

Wednesday on was game day, lots of great flying weather.
Chads new hot rod 180.

Rob56 and Piperpainter at Weatherby.

I hope this isn't how 180's are born?

Post soak at Lower Loon.

We bartered our way into a couple of 4 wheelers.
A quick trip to camp to load up with beverages and cameras.

Up the hill above Yellow Pine to the cinnabar mine/ghost town.

Down town.

The motel.

Dave and Lora Lee exploring.

I'm thinking you don't drink the water.

Up over the ridge to the stibnite mine.

It's all exploration at this point.

Back at Yellow Pine for debrief.
