Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Great work, on both the plane and the video. First class job.

It can be such a long road to get them flying again. I wanted to cheer out loud when it broke ground for the first time! =D> =D>

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Thanks for all the nice comments guys!

Yes, final assembly has been @ my place of work, Kenmore Air Harbor (S60) where there is no airstrip anymore. SOP for launching wheel-planes is a barge trip down the lake to KRNT.

Motorcycle is a R90, 1975. 40k trouble free miles over the last 10 years. Just out of frame is a 1975 MotoGuzzi T3, which is the next project to finish.

Congratulations on the first flight, Sam, looking good. I don't recognize the grass strip at the end of the video, I assume it's around Puget Sund somewhere?

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Back a ways when I was much younger......I had the opportunity to spend some time with Bernard Pietenpol . I was living out in the country by Cherry Grove. One day as I was out feeding cattle I heard this spudder and coffin engine....like and old model T.....I was looking down the road trying to see something when ol Bernard came over about 5 feet above the trees in a "Home Made Pusher" it didn't have a second seat or I would have been in it............way cool , please post some more pictures when you can and enjoy.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

This is such a cool thread. Man, you guys have some absolutely beautiful planes!

Here is what used to be my Stearman:

Smoke on!

High speed low pass:

And some formation flying in Holland with some of my Stearman buddies:

And here is my other flying machine. True backcountry: hike up a mountain, soar ridges, ride thermals and land in someones back yard. True STOL!

Also curious little john, what kind of STOL fences? Also, do you have a cuffed leading edge?

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

The old 170 good for getting a guy and his girl (and two dogs) around Alaska. Also, gets the meat from the field to the freezer just fine. I wish i could visit all the places in these photos.

Thanks, it is a Savannah. I wish I could take credit for building it, but my friend and I bought it from the builder with about 600hrs on the Rotax 912.

After 6 years of building it is ready to fly! We will be putting it on Clamar 2500 amphibs this spring, adding some droop tips and vinyl.
