Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

If legos count,I get to include the step dad's planes since they are in the family and I have flown them. Besides Hi Country needs to show this first one to GW's previous owner.

Lynn Sanderson (Dirtstrip) passed away from natural causes in May 2013. He was a great contributor and will be missed dearly.

This is our supercub after rebuild. We bolted wings on sunday and 31 inch bushwheels today. It has 180hp cc engine, extended wings and ailerons, droop ailerons and hope to fly soon. Has been almost 3 year rebuild.Image Image Image

The faster I go , the farther behind I get.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Now, guess which one of the airplanes in this pic is mine

Image

The 1968 Cherokee 180 (N6354J), of course!

The 1940-something B-17 is the Liberty Belle, a restored/flying Flying Fortress that winters at my home field of Double Eagle II (KAEG). Note the P-51 taxiing in the right background. What you can't see in this pic is the flight of US Army Blackhawks parked on the ramp behind the Liberty Belle. The guy in fatigues shooting a pic of the P-51 is one of the Blackhawk air crew. The Army and ANG send their chopper crews to KAEG to practice dusty landings and takeoffs, just prior to deployment to Iraq.

I don't have any backcountry photos of 54J just yet ... I'm a newbie at backcountry flying, and just joined a startup backcountry pilots group, a subset of the New Mexico Pilots Association. Hope to have plenty of backcountry shots to share in the coming months.

With clothing, the opposite of NOMEX is polypro (polypropylene cloth and fleece).

As of this morning, my new baby. 1961 172B. Just finished getting some dual time with an instructor to be safe. We loaded 140lbs of sand in the rear seats and 70lbs of sand in the baggage compartment to simulate carrying a passenger & gear. It handles a bit differently.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

I haven't been anywhere very interesting to get a pic to compete with some of these, but here's one of me with the Cherokee.

Remember you can edit your posts if you screw up the code the first time. Just click the little pencil icon in the upper right of the post area. I fixed your original post Alan. Nice looking Cherokee.
