Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

It seems like this thread forced a few of you to finally learn how to embed an image in a forum post. Judging by the length of the thread it seems like most of you guys are getting it. I have noticed a few errors though, and fixed them. Here's a few tips to help.

  • Read this tutorial.
  • Remember that your URL must end with a file extension, like ".jpg" Without one, your URL will not be recognized as an image. That's why it's important to learn how to ascertain the URL of any image file you see on a webpage.
  • BBcode tags must always have a closing tag, i.e. the same tag with a slash in front, to encapsulate the content.
  • Choose the right image size: The URL (web address) of a thumbnail contains the word "thumb" usually. I suggest not using thumbnails as they're too tiny to be practical.
  • Use the Preview button to check if your syntax works before Submitting.
  • If you've already submitted and it's not displaying correctly, use the Edit function rather than re-posting. This can be used by clicking the tiny pencil icon in the upper right corner of the post area, for your posts only.

Ag-Cats are actually Transformers disguised as full size Tonka Trucks posing as airplanes. They were the first Transformers to come to earth and had not quite gotten the concept of "beauty" down yet! Later arrivals mimicked things like the SR-71.

I have not seen that one flying much...thought it was mostly collecting dust like the DHC-2 Beaver. Good to know someone is putting her though her paces.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Threads like this are my favorite. Its great to see all these planes in their natural environment.

Flat country- great colors! both the scenery and the 170...

I especially liked Jimmy M's tailwheeled 172. how's that working for you on floats? which floats and prop are you using?

Here's my 172. family's growing out of it, but i can't stand the thought of selling it for a bigger plane...

a short hike from this beach and you can sight fish for king salmon with fly rods.

Some office equipment. The 180 is new to the fleet, so there aren't many good shots of her at work yet...

Yup.

O-360, 31" Bushwheels, total empty weight <1300#.

Pretty nice flyer, but I'd like to get a bigger prop turning in front...
