Here are a couple of shots of the 140 I recently sold. Sometimes I get a little seller's remorse but I am looking forward to finding another set of wings.

No, but close. The photo on top is in the Tordrillo mountains, west side of the Susitna valley for those not familiar with that name. Second photo is the Kobuk Sand Dunes. I do have my fair share of photos around Knik glacier/Lake George area. Wonderful area.

1946 7AC, my first airplane. Bought it cheap with a 0 time engine (75HP) tons of new nut and bolts, fabric, tires, paint, and other parts. We have all the covering work done, and it is almost ready for paint. It will fly by spring.

Part of the really cheap is that it is split 3 ways, but one of the other guys is an IA who owns the FBO at Chelan, and the 3rd is his apprentice. It is actually working out well. Me and the kid are doing all the work under the IA's guidance, in his heated shop, using all his stuff. I went in on it as much to own an airplane as to get my hands back into working on them. I have not used my A&P in 15 years but the skills are coming back to me.
We're not keeping it for too long. Champs seem to sell pretty quick even in todays market, and we must sell it and move in when it is all done. We agreed we would fly it about 300 hours or so, and only me and the kid will be doing the majority of that. I hear Champs are a really good stepping stone to move onto another taildragger such as a Maule or even a Scout. Although if an unfinished Rans S7 kit came along, and I had the money, I would go for it.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

Hi Guys;

Haven't figured out the imbed thing yet, so you will have to do it the hard way and open my photo gallery to see my 1977 Maule, M5-210C. I hope the link works. The airplane is on 8.00's now, so looks a little better.
