I hate to see Piper Cherokees so under-represented in these pages. It may not be a real back-country machine, but it's a nice-flying bird and it can get into and out of some short strips with some stick-and-rudder practice.

I owned a 180C serial number 28-2152. I flew that bad boy for 1,200 hours in 9 years. I loved it. My useful load was 1050 lbs. and it would haul every bit no problem.

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

I like Cherokee's.....they make real nice cross country machines....Prefer high wings for back-country ops though...

Most everyone here knows what I am working on here as far as the PA-28 goes.......Here is ours...

And what we want to do with it....

And this is where we are at so far with the test fuselage....in the snow....

Those are some gorgeous shots of your 180, Aqua! I love the look on straight floats.

Is she a '59? Looks a lot like my baby. Nice!

Oregon,

Thanks. No, mine is a '62. The white and red one in the formation shot is a '59, a very nice airplane.

That Cherokee taildragger is slick. 110kt cruise, 1050 lbs useful, I think it would make a slick plane for the $40k budget.

First time I've seen this. Part of me wants to say this is so wrong... but the other part of me thinks it would be a lot of fun. =D>

What a beauty that Piet... I wouldnt know but I suspect there's no better feeling than flying an open cockpit... i just want to do it so that I can justify buying aviator hat, goggles and Jacket!

Re: Photo thread: Show Us Your Plane!

This is my experimental homebuilt, pretty much built entirely in my garage. It's a Bushcaddy, all metal, tough as nails (very strong airframe) and a complete joy to fly. These pics were taken on the day of its first flight.
