Re: Texas Aircraft @ TX STOL Roundup

Thanks for the info. I live and fly pretty close to Hondo (8T8) and buy fuel there all the time. It's really a short hop by car or air. I can't help but wonder why it's more expensive to fly in, rather than drive in? Seems like they would like selling the extra fuel!

Arrived in Hondo on Sunday after flying my 185 down from Alaska, so no excuses for you guys/gals not coming.

Been here 3 days and not a drop of rain so far (although best chance of the week is tomorrow). Grass is in really good condition as you can see from the pictures below. It's also been crop dusted to kill back any bugs.

More pictures of the set up to follow.

By the way the competition will be live streamed on our's and AOPA's Facebook page.

Re: Photos @ TX STOL Roundup

By 10:00 yesterday the skies were cleared and filled with those beautiful puffy white clouds I used to like flying my Stearmans around.

Took these photos yesterday throughout the afternoon.

The registration/breifing/award ceremony tent.

Looking from the tent south at the spectator area and then non-competitor aircraft camping. Pretty sure we have enough grass prepared. Oh, and all got crop dusted again after I took these pictures.

At the south end of the non-competitor aircraft camping area which goes north to the spectator area which is just below the tent.

Taken right after I finished mowing the runway and the area around and under the tent.

Was another hot, sunny day in Hondo.

Forgot to post this earlier or put it on the website until just now.
