I want to mount a fire extinguisher on the front of my passenger seat. I found this at Aircraft Spruce. Have seen several in airplanes

Have you considered contacting the local Safety Fire extinguisher supplier? I only mention this due to taking to our local guy at the airport several years ago. Just a casual conversation....he was servicing the airports fire extinguishers and I I asked him about Halon extinguisher availability. He would sell me one much cheaper than the aviation marts.

Woops. Not HR3. It is H3R. And it looks like H3R makes both halon and dry chem.

I have had one of these for a few years. I don’t remember it being this expensive. It comes with a mount and everything. Happy with fire extinguisher depot buying experience.

Looking at prices, I would likely buy the one linked on Amazon if I were in the market again.

I have a compressed gas fire fighting bottle in my plane to be strictly compliant with requirements. I also have 2 Element 50 fire extinguishing sticks. The element 50 provides fire fighting ability for about 55 seconds while the compressed fire fighting gas bottle is depleted in about 10 seconds. The extra fire fighting time seemed important to me. Just bought an Amerex A384T, $200 delivered. From Fire and Safety Plus.

The 344T is Halon 1211, 384T is Halotron (H3R calls it Halguard, supposedly the same), not quite the same thing, hence the difference in price.

Halon is more effective than Halotron in the cockpit. Think of Halotron as Halon after it was forced to become "green". You need more of it to do the same job as Halon. Halon is becoming more and more illegal becuase of the CFCs and envirnmental impact. Personally, if I'm on fire, I don't care about it's environmental impact.
