Powers, OR (6S6) - June 15-16

This was tossed around briefly in the Where Did You Fly today thread, but we should pencil it in. It's a fun place for a group campout. It's a massive grass airstrip at sea level, should be good for any skill level. Lots of fun possibilities exist for fly-outs to the coast.

There's nothing there, really. Sometimes there's a porta potty, but I don't know who arranged that. I wouldn't plan on it, and consider it primitive camping. Haul water from the river. The walk into town is pretty short though.

We could only hope for such glorious weather.

Man, that's a good looking plane! :D We will plan on making it there. It will be the 1st night of our 2+ week trip that will end up at JC.

We'll pencil in those dates. Lucas Lodge is just over the hill. We love their fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy!

Sounds like a family friendly place (swimming etc?)? I think I'll try to get the fam on board for this!

C'MON ](*,) !!!
I got to be on shift Saturday. This damn work really gets in the way of the really important stuff.
Maybe I'll get out there Friday afternoon for a visit, and do a semi-night flight home.
In the meantime, I'll be watching for someone to need a shift trade at the station between now and then. [-o<

Can we do June 8,9. Work really does get in the way of flying.

Sweet! Looking forward to it.

I don't have high hopes for trout in the Coquille at that time of year, but it won't stop me from bringing my little 3wt and slapping some water.

I'll be in Idaho flying/camping with my daughter the week prior, and returning on Saturday evening. We'd love to see you guys on Sunday morning/Father's Day for breakfast at Lucas Lodge though. Is that the plan?

Lucas Lodge would be fun since I've never been. Also, if it's good WX, I was thinking of flying up the coast to Pacific City to get lunch at the Pelican Brew pub.

At some point, we need to think about giving Linda at Lucas Lodge a heads up as to how many planes/people are going to have an emergency landing for breakfast. I was thinking Sat and Sun, both for the 2 of us.!
