Good point John. Probably need to get closer to the date so we can verify the wx will be fly/camping acceptable.

I'll see about stashing some firewood at Powers and making sure it gets mowed. Grass is growing fast this time of year.

Anybody who flys RC, bring something to fly. Powers is a great place to fly full scale and models.

Wish I could make it. Sounds like a great crew and lots of fun! If I can get away, I might fly down for a brief visit.

I can make a firewood run as well. Where should I stash it Highroad?

I say we plan to camp at the southeast end where they usually mow a parking area, by the cliff. Overflow parking can go on the west side of the strip.

I agree, a nice spot to camp, and the furthest away from the road. We can put the wood in the trees. The camping/parking spot is obvious on the SE end of the runway.

I just checked out the Lucas Lodge strip on Google Earth. There appears to be a lot of nice gravel bars in close proximity :D Does anyone know their current condition?

If there is room? Are you planning on sharing someone's tent? ;)

There's plenty of parking!

Is there any place to get food/refreshments in town? It looks walkable.

Looking forward to it!

Re: Powers, OR (6S6) - June 15-16

Flight of 3 (Maule, 170, Tripacer) out of Roseburg will be there Friday afternoon/evening. I can't get out of work, so I need to show up for shift Saturday. Planning to leave just before dark Friday night. But I'll throw in a sleeping bag just incase. 8-[
Might be able to join the gaggle up to PC Sunday. Might have to pull the fathers day card to get the family to go along.
Gunna be fun!
We're having May/June wx like I've never seen in the 21 yrs. I've lived here. Hope it continues.

Re: Powers, OR (6S6) - June 15-16

Anyone thinking about walking to town Saturday night for dinner/drinks? I figured if I bag dinner in Powers and breakfast at Agness my cooler would only need to be big enough for Saturday's beer.

Think this is going be great. A mini JC.
