It was nice to meet you Highroad and thanks for the hospitality in your neck of the woods. And really, no hard feelings about the chair

Ah man, I feel bad......no wonder you didn't say goodbye.......haha. I must of been looking at my big tires and not where my tail was pointed  I owe you a chair.

Was great to meet you and thanks for coming out. Awesome Video, laughed all the way through!!

Brent

I don't say "good bye", only "see you later"

And don't feel bad about the chair. I found myself looking at your big tires a lot too! I kept my eyes off your tail though  .

Glad you liked the video. My kids can ham it up sometimes!

Here's a blurry pic I took of you flying low on the was to Lucas.

Until next time,

I can't say enough about how much my kids and I (and Toby) enjoyed the weekend! A great place and great people can only lead to one thing and a good time was definitely had by us! As I said above we stopped at Roseburg for a little gas and then hit Mackenzie Bridge to let the kids chase grasshoppers before arriving home to find a nice fathers day meal including parmesan encrusted steak with potatoes, broccoli, fresh brewed ice tea and home made ice cream with fresh berries! I know right! :D We're all pretty tired. Toby's been out cold for hours :? .

Most of the Maule guys were OK too except this one big tire guy who prop washed my chair into the fire!! :o I was thinking about stenciling "HIGHROAD" on it and leaving there for him but maybe I'll save that for another time

About the video:

1. It is iphone quality. That's because the entire thing (minus the editing) was done with the iphone.
2. My videographers are now 7 and 9 years old and the stability of the shot sometimes reflects that! (They also star in much of the video).
3. Something about Powers Oregon just screams country music to me so that's what you get!

Thanks for being a part of our memories!

Great video Clippwagon!

Let's go flying again soon.

Cool vid, Wayne. Your kids were great, very well behaved but full of beans. It was nice getting to know you all a little bit.

Fly-ins like this are what it's all about. Let's add it to the calendar for next year.

Wayne:

I love the video!

I tried contacting you after departing Roseberg but you must have been too far ahead of me.

Glad I departed Powers when I did. It got quite bumpy on the way home and Thunderstorms developed a bit later.

Wow, great video - great pictures and a great time. Thank you to everyone for making Carla feel at home on her first trip. Great group at Powers and we had a blast.

Brent, she is great! Anyone who rides 200 miles in the back of a light tandem and then camps in a bivy tent with a smile on their face is a keeper. 8)

I uploaded some GoPro video from arriving at Powers and then screwing around in the pattern a little:

Scolopax,
It was fun hanging out with you and Scott! Love your 180 and can't wait to hook up and do some flying!! Glad you liked the vid.

Zzz,

Mason got a kick out of reading your post about being full of beans  . I know it can be hard hanging around other peoples kids but everyone was so gracious and even laughed at some of their stories. That means a lot to me and speaks volumes in my mind as to the quality of individuals that were gathered for the weekend! I'm in for adding this to the calendar for next year! We're going to have to work on our fly fishing skills between now and then so we catch more than just minnows! (OK, not sure it was our skill as much as the lack of bounty available in the river, but....)

Love the camera angle and the crisp picture of your video too!

Alex,

We tried calling you a few times as well but no dice! Our northerly route via 00S kept us ahead of some of the big cloud build up but we suffered some of the bumps :? . Hope you get some BB gun target practice in before next year. "Firing blanks" isn't gonna cut it next time  .

Sweet pics by the way. You have an incredible eye and camera!. I have camera envy.

Brent (DCO-65),

Thanks for the kind words about the video. Everyone above forgot one of the most important things about Carla, she brought Smore's!!! It was nice meeting you guys. Love your airplane!

Great pictures everyone!
Alex I especially like this one of Larry......the only thing missing is the Colt hanging on his hip, very fitting for this part of the country.

Larry Knox is a great guy! Stop by his shop (S30) for MoGas/AvGas! Plenty of courtesy cars and trucks too. There is a really nice "seaplane friendly" lake up the river called Green Peter, about 20 minutes Northwest. :D

Larry is a super guy! He gave me a Sprite when we stopped at S30 when I asked if they had any available though none were in the vending machine. Good for a queasy passenger.

Glad they came to visit.

Re: Powers, OR (6S6) - June 15-16

Put together a little vid from the fathers day powers fly in. We did not get to fly with many of you, so did not get much footage of the other people/planes, but we had a great time and enjoyed our time outdoors. Fairly long video, but shows the area and several points of interest around Powers.

Set the res to 720p......

As a fellow M5 owner it was nice to see what they are capable of with an accomplished pilot in the seat. =D> Great clip, really like your selection of music 8)
