Prop control help, C182E

Hello all

My '62 182 is missing the clamps that secure the prop control conduit to the engine. I do have the AN 741 clamp that goes on the intake pipe...Image
... but am missing the 0450191-3 (?) Cessna clamp that goes on the crimped ferrule on the control. Image
Cessna wants $130 (!) for this thing and I don't even know what it looks like. Does anyone have a photo or a spare clamp they can part with? With a photo I can most likely rig up an owner produced part.

Any help appreciated

Perhaps McFarlane Aviation can help.

I'll bet they have a PMAd replacement for 129.99.

If it is the one I am thinking of it looks nearly identical to the 741 clamp you have just much smaller to clamp the ferrule.

I will be at the hangar and snap a picture of the installation on my 67 C180. Probably a similar arrangement...

Re: Prop control help, C182E

Sometimes with McFarlane, it's a good idea to get on the phone--they have all sorts of stuff that isn't in their catalog, and while it may not be an exact match for the Cessna part, it will work just as well at much less cost.

Example: My P172D has cowl flaps, controlled (originally) with a single push-pull knob which pulled separate cables, one for each cowl flap. One of the cables broke. McFarlane didn't have an exact match, and the Cessna version would have been over 1 AMU with no idea when it might come. But McFarlane did have a vernier knob version which works perfectly. That was 10 years ago, and it's still working just fine. I have the only vernier controlled cowl flaps of any airplane I've ever seen! :)

Prop control help, C182E

There we go, that's what I'm talking about! Thanks for the pix! Looks like it's a MS27405 by Umpco, should be able to find one for less than $130!

Once Adels get oily things start to slip.

Thanks for the offer but I'm sure someone around Merrill can use it more than me, I'll make do locally, just glad to know what it looks like.
