PT6 U206F
Have you modified your aircraft? STC? STOL Kit? Major rebuild from just a data plate?
Whats with the tailwheel turbine 206 in the gallery? Photoshop? Looks awesome!!

DER has the drawings and it should hold a target 450hp max continous power. Engine mount powder coated, all fuselage reinforcements riveted in place. Large nose gear fork reinstalled and waiting on my 6.00X6 tire and wheel to arrive. Engine will be hung begining of next week. Pictures to follow. I have the next set of fuselage attach fittings ready and second engine mount coming out the the jig.

If you're not scarin' yourself, you're not scarin' the crowd!
The engine is hanging on. starter fitted, still needs the nose wheel and tire installed before rolling it outside for better pics. didnt want to take a chance and remove the engine stand until the nose wheel is on.

Just a small word of advise. Be careful using those nylon ratchet straps for very expensive items like whats pictured. I use those type of ratchet straps (motorcycle tie downs) inside my rig for securing heavy loads. So far, I've had a half dozen of those straps break at the ratchet assembly (the handles bend as I was tightening the strap and the load came loose). I'm pretty sure the factor was cheap (China made) tie downs.
I can't tell by the picture, but does look like your using heavy duty straps. But still, I'd be using metal chain for an expensive engine like that.
Other than that, looks like the conversion is coming along quit nicely.

"She's really lookin' good, Vern"!
What will you do with all the empty space under the engine?

A better view of the firewall reinforcements and engine mount. Prop clearance 600x6 nose, 800x6 mains shows that a standard King air 90 prop will work making things easy.

Blessed are the curious, for they shall have great adventures!
No exciting stuff to show off like the engine hanging on the mount. The fiberglass Pitot engine inlet scoop being fabricated, wiring going in, Prop has been approved by Hartzell. All the little stuff that takes time and not real sexy. 90% done and 90% to go. When I have some new good photos Ill be sure to show off and post them.

Alot of looking, carving, looking, carving. Build up more foam, Carving, looking. The 206 is rounder than a Porter and flat sheet metal sides would just look wrong. I hope the finished product looks good and blends well with the original lines.

How long it is taking for the Cowl, Im starting to think it looks great without it. After putting an engine on it like that you should show it off. No woman should cover up a great boob job. With that much horse power who needs a cowl for drag reduction? Back to work.
