I'll be looking for you Oregon or SW Washington guys to fly PIC in the Maule or at least work the throttle and flaps. If I ride right seat work the yoke. I can't let my new engine just sit. I'll buy the food and gas too.

If this sounds interesting PM me.

Cheers...Rob

What a tempting offer. I wish I had a tailwheel signoff and tailwheel time!

Rob, I'll be in town next week and a couple of times next month. I'll check in on you. Like others have said, do the PT but don't push it to aggressively. Small steps. But I think you have been through PT before.

Re: Rotator Cuff surgery: grounded 8-10 weeks

Wife went through this a couple of years ago. Recovery aggravated by lack of effective pain meds that she could tolerate. Ended up with a cabinet full that they would prescribe and that would not work out. She finished on a migraine headache nasal spray. Never thought she would have the pain she had and never saw as many tears as she shed.

Don't skimp on taking your pain meds, especially when you go to therapy. I saw a lot of people cry when I took her to therapy.

Seemed that there was a lot of people who did not seem to be in pain and a group that was miserable, the therapists said that people usually fell into one category or the other.

Good Luck to you and may you have a great quick recovery!!!

Hang in there. A guy at work had a training accident and had the same surgery. He said a good recliner was the trick for him to get any sleep with less pain.

Guess I fall in a different category. I got the pain meds, which were good, plus that big bottle of stool softener to go with them. I took them for 3-4 days and being plugged up was worse than the pain, so that was the last I took of either. PT was by far the worse, but manageable.

Hang in there Rob 8) If you need any drug advise let me know  Also, if you need a ride down to Madras or Pacific City, I'm there for ya. The Bonanza is pretty easy to get in and out of, even for a guy post surgery :D

For most people, Weed is NOT the ticket for pain relief.
When you and your Doc find what works for you, if an IV isn't available it is .....PILLS & PRUNES.....

Go ahead and start the prunes now while they are working out 'the best' for you....

One of them vicodin thingys and half a glass of scotch. JUST kidding! Worked for me when I was young and stupid with wisdom teeth out. Not smart though....I'll bet S-12flyer would not approve.

You are correct sir. [-X :D Alcohol and pain meds have killed a LOT of people. Fall asleep and stop breathing...end of story.
It WILL get better. But shoulders are by far the most painful rehabs. Remember, your oral pain meds take 20 to 30 minutes to take effect. If you wait to take them until after you feel pain, it is too late. Better to just take them on a schedule for the first few days.
Don't push it!!! You can do the most damage on the first couple of weeks before the tissues starts to heal. Your doc and therapist have been through this many times. (I assume) Follow their instructions. And remember, free internet advice ( like mine) is worth every penny.
